For all interested in Bergamasco puppies this was quite an event. This was the first litter in North America in fifteen years of registered Bergamascos. Gae and Fauno also created an instant population explosion bringing the total of registered Bergamasco's to twelve. On a more personal note, Bergamasco pups seem to develop a quick and impressive confidence and even though they are puppies first, seem to know what they and who they are.
They have a tight knit family bond and still want a close human relationship. They want to be heard and seen and touched but still want their independence. They were clammering to get out of their birthing pen at 4 weeks old and wanted more open area for themselves, huddled together and separate at times. An interesting dichotomy seen in their mature state, wanting to be extremely close but still maintaining their own mental state and being.
You can see their heritage as a fully working independent thinking breed that had a close human relationship with the shepherd, caring for in a very gentle manner, but still maintaining a strong resilient independent nature. Let us continue the heritage of the Bergamasco as it was and is and not as others would like it to be!
